Brevis ProverNet Governance Framework
The governance system of Brevis ProverNet is responsible for managing protocol parameters, coordinating upgrades, and overseeing critical decisions related to the operation of the decentralized prover marketplace.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Auction mechanism configuration (e.g. TODA parameters)
- Prover staking and slashing rules
- Network-level constraints (e.g. proof size, security thresholds)
- Protocol upgrades and contract ownership
Governance Process
At network inception, governance is coordinated by a Security Council to ensure stability, responsiveness, and safe iteration during early-stage deployment.
During this phase:
- Proposed changes are first discussed publicly in the governance forum
- Community sentiment is measured through off-chain voting (using Snapshot)
- These votes serve as advisory signals
- The Security Council conduct proposal execution
This structure enables rapid iteration while maintaining transparency and community participation.
The Security Council operates via a multisig contract (0xb7eB979f52c0b78837AE53Bc985BD5191C6e0ee7) with a predefined 3/5 signature threshold. The composition of the council is designed to include core contributors and trusted ecosystem participants.
Over time, Brevis ProverNet governance will progressively transition toward a fully onchain governance model.
